Silicone Curtain Wall Systems

Silicone Facade

Silicone facade systems are preferred when the whole appearance of glass is demanded. In this system there are thin (16 mm) fuga gaps between glass cassettes and aluminum cannot be seen when looking on the outside.

Lower construction is completed with aluminum vertical and horizontal carrying profiles. Before glass units are installed, cassette profiles are shaped as frame. Afterwards, having been tested in a factory environment, double glazings are fixed with clearance determining tapes (Norton tapes) and bonding silicone. This process is called as Bonding and the cassette is completed. The cassettes are fixed on carrying construction with cassette fixing joints in a working site environment.

Panels made of aluminum composite plates or compact laminate may be used and also film coated double-glazing panels or one film coated glass panels, back of which made of thermal insulation may be used for structural silicone facade’s spandrel parts.

Concealed vent opening outside cannot be noticed from the outside. A silicone application is not necessary when EPDM filters are used for the insulation between cassettes.

Clamped Silicone Facade

When the whole appearance of glass is demanded, clamped silicone facade system is preferred. Double-glazing strips have clamping gaps structurally at clamped silicone facade system. As they are connected to the lower construction from these gaps, cassette profile and bonding process are not necessary.

Cassette profiles are necessary to be used when opening vents are demanded. Cassette profiles cannot be seen when looking on the outside. Fuga gaps are fixed and 20 mm everywhere in between panels. There are 3 different detail solutions enabling dry and wet glassing methods at the stage of filling fuga gap. There are silicone filters enabling silicone joint sealant on wet glassing. (The glasses are attached to cassette profiles with the bonding process on classic silicone facade systems and the prepared cassettes are fixed on lower construction with fixing joints.
